Brad Hallier is a veteran sports journalist based in Hutchinson, Kansas. He spent 17 years covering high school and junior college sports in Garden City and Hutchinson.

He spent more than three years as the Sports Editor at The Hutchinson News, and in March of 2017, he earned the prestigious Oscar Stauffer Sportswriter Award, which is presented annually by the Kansas State High School Activities Association. Award winners cannot be nominated by peers, co-workers or other news outlets, only by member high schools.

Currently, Hallier is a journalism instructor at Hutchinson Community College and is the student newspaper – The Hutchinson Collegian – adviser. He also freelances with several publications, namely VYPE Kansas, referees youth and high school soccer and has a real estate license.

A Mission, Kansas native, Hallier is a die-hard Royals, Chiefs, Sporting Kansas City, Jayhawks and Liverpool fan. He graduated from Bishop Miege High School, Allen County Community College and the University of Kansas, earning a bachelor’s degree from Kansas.

Hallier married Jennifer Augustine on November 3, 2001, and the couple has three children – Laurelle Augustine (19 and HutchCC sophomore cheerleader), Joselyn (15 and Hutchinson High freshman) and Landon (11 and Prairie Hills sixth grader). He is also a doggie-grandpa to Cricket and Hope. He spends his free time watching his kids participate in their many activities, traveling the state and the midwest for Josie’s soccer and basketball, and Landon’s baseball, soccer and golf.
